Who we are

This is a blog on Firefox2100. Everything posted here is written by me (Firefox2100) unless otherwise stated. I’m the sole controller of this website and the server/network it’s running from. The front page address is: https://www.firefox2100.co.uk.

Comments

When you leave a comment on any of the pages or posts, the information you submitted within the form will be kept permanently, unless the moderator or the owner feels the need to remove it. The IP address and user agent of the browser that submitted the comment are also collected, and kept for not over 30 days, used to help with spam or other malicious activity detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

Media you upload onto this website will be kept permanently unless the moderator or the owner decides to remove it. If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded metadata included. Visitors can download and extract any embedded data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These cookies are for your convenience, so you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will set up several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days, and screen options cookies last a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

No analytical cookies or third-party cookies, except for the ones listed above or from embedded content, are present on this website.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

We do not have control over this behaviour. Any data collected by those websites is not shared with us and cannot be managed (including requested removal) by us.

Who we share your data with

This website, as well as other services that require your personal data to facilitate the function of this website, is controlled by Firefox2100. No data is actively shared to third parties.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can automatically recognise and approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue. If the moderator removes the comment, the metadata of it is still kept, but the content will be removed.

We store the personal information provided by users who register on our website (if any) in their user profiles. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this website or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us, under the GDPR regulation. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Upon receiving such requests, we will act as quickly as we can, but due to the owner’s capacity, the requests may not be fulfilled or responded to immediately or within hours of submission. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
